Client Survey

You will receive an introductory phone call where I'll gather up as much information as possible related to your custom web design. During this call, I will ask about preferred color schemes. I will also ask for a list of about 3-4 web sites that you think exemplify the look and feel of your desired web site.

Before getting started, please note that clients must provide their own written content for their web designs. You do not need all of your content ready by the time we do the introductory phone call, but please be aware of this before hiring me to make a custom web design.

If you need copy writing services, I can provide this service to you through one of my preferred copy writing partners. Otherwise, it is the responsibility of the client to write their own copy and make this content available in a timely manner.

Basic Web Design Process

All of my custom web designs are search engine friendly and easy to navigate. In addition, my web designs are built exclusively with advanced CSS techniques & XHTML transitional code.

Turnaround time is typically 10-14 business days. This is also largely determined by the client and whether they're available to supply all necessary information and feedback as requested.

All designs are tested for compatibility with the latest versions of the following web browsers: Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. Also, each set of code is checked for validation according to the latest W3C web standards.

Throughout the web development process, you'll get friendly advice and guidance. I know it's a bit of an undertaking to get a web site designed and published to the web, so I'll do my best to make this process as easy and painless as possible for you.

Web Hosting & Domain Name

In order to publish a site to the web, a domain name and a hosting account are needed.

Think of a domain name as a mailing address and the hosting account as your residence. The hosting account is where your site's files will reside. The domain name is what your visitors will type into their browser to find your web site.

I don't currently offer domain name registration or hosting services, but I can do the legwork for you to secure these services. For domain name registration, I use GoDaddy. My preferred hosting provider is Host Gator.

Hosting services start at $60/year. Domain names run $10-20/year. These fees will be billed in addition to the regular design fee.

Payment Terms

A 50% deposit is required prior to the start of your web design project. The final 50% will be due before your site is officially launched.

Invoices will be sent via email for each lump sum amount. I accept all major forms of payment -- credit cards, personal checks (checks must clear before a project can start), and Paypal (preferred).

If you need to cancel your project after the web development process has already begun, you will only be entitled to an 80% refund of any amounts paid.
